Dr. Mark Mobius Interviewed in Foundation & Endowment Money Management
Dr. Mark Mobius, Managing Director of Templeton Asset Management Ltd., was interviewed in Foundation & Endowment Money Management's February 2004 article "Outlook Good for Emerging Markets."
In the article, Dr. Mobius participates in a Q&A session with the publication, providing his insights into emerging markets performance and his outlook over the next 12 months.
Dr. Mobius discusses his view of what defines an emerging markets portfolio, the importance of portfolio diversification, to what he attributes the MSCI Emerging Markets Equity Index and S&P 500 Index returns for 2003, and what particular sectors (regions or countries) are outperforming and why.
Dr. Mobius also comments on what characteristics an institutional investor should look for in an emerging markets equity manager, and highlights some trends that could affect this asset class over the next 12 months.
Dr. Mobius currently manages the Templeton emerging markets portfolios and directs the analysts based in Templeton's 11 emerging markets offices. Dr. Mobius has spent more than 30 years working in emerging markets all over the world. He was appointed Joint Chairman of the World Bank and Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's Global Corporate Governance Forum Investor Responsibility Taskforce.
